On March 4 Cine Las Americas will join over 300 nonprofit organizations in Central Texas to participate in a 24 hour online giving festival called Amplify Austin. The goal of the campaign is to raise $1 million in 24 hours for the local nonprofits that enrich our community. During Amplify Austin every contribution you make will be amplified by a matching incentive fund generously provided by University Federal Credit Union and the Austin Community Foundation. This means that every time you donate, they give us money too, and we get more bang for your buck. The more you give overall, the more we receive from the matching fund, yet small contributions always make a big difference.


Your gift to Cine Las Americas during Amplify Austin will directly benefit the organization’s programs. The mission of Cine Las Americas is to promote cross-cultural understanding and growth by educating, entertaining and challenging diverse audiences through film and media arts. By supporting our mission, you can make a difference and be part of what makes Austin a destination for diverse, world-class international cinema, while staying closely involved with the Austin community.

What is Amplify Austin?

Amplify Austin is a Austin’s first community-wide giving festival. Starting Monday, March 4 at 7pm our community will have 24 hours to raise $1 million for the 330 participating Central Texas nonprofits


Why give through on March 4–5th?

Your gift made through the Amplify Austin website during the 24 hour event will be amplified by $160,000 in incentive matching dollars from University Federal Credit Union and the Austin Community Foundation. That means your donation will be amplified by community sponsors!


When is Amplify Austin?

7pm, Monday, March 4 to 7pm, Tuesday, March 5. You have exactly 24 hours to crank up the giving. Of course you are welcome to give year-round, but only donations made during that 24 hours are eligible for incentive matching dollars from University Federal Credit Union and the Austin Community Foundation.


Where do I go to donate?

Starting 7pm March 4 there will be 3 ways you can donate to Cine Las Americas during Amplify Austin (links will become live at 7pm on March 4):

How do I become a Fundraiser for Cine Las Americas?

Amplify Austin is excited to offer the opportunity to become a Fundraiser for the event. Both individuals and businesses may become Fundraisers. “Individual Fundraisers” pick their own fundraising goal and receive donations on their fundraising page on All fundraisers will be able to register by completing an online form on the Amplify Austin site. How do I get a Tax Deduction?

Your donation to Cine Las Americas during Amplify Austin is 100% tax deductible. After you donate online, you will receive an immediate thank you and tax receipt for 100% of your



Can I make a recurring gift?

Yes, however, only the donation amount scheduled for March 4-5, 2013, Amplify Austin Day, will qualify for a boost from the Incentive Fund and be counted toward nonprofit prizes.
