Alejandro Tazo, a broken-hearted Chilean in his thirties, arrives in Nashville, Tennessee, the cradle of country music. Tazo wants to meet people and make this trip worth something, but he will realize that life is unpredictable, especially in a foreign country. Música campesina, which was filmed in Nashville, premiered at BAFICI and went on to win Best National Film at Valdivia.
Regional Premiere
Alberto Fuguet was born in Santiago and studied journalism at the University of Chile. He has developed a career as a novelist, film critic, and filmmaker, and in 2010 was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in fiction. He writes for the magazine Qué Pasa and is a resident professor of film and literature at Diego Portales University. He is currently writing a book of essays about North American film from the 1970s, among other projects.
