Joel is a young man living without documentation in Austin, Texas. Originally from Mexico, he is here to work to pay for medicine to treat his cancer--medicine he cannot afford in Mexico. The film follows Joel for a day; we are with him at a day labor center and he explains his situation, including the 35 months he spent in jail for being caught without documentation. This film forms a part of the Faces of Austin 2012 selection.

This San Antonio produced film premiered in the Urban Stories section of the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival 2011.

Exhausted from the demands of his abilities as a healer, Diego lives in isolation on a small island in his native Puerto Rico. However, his quiet life is disrupted when Hilary, a documentary filmmaker, arrives to continue her project on migration and identity. Intrigued by Diego's mystery and the local gossip about him, she tries to get closer to him. He allows her into his life, but as the two become attracted to each other, Hilary discovers Diego's "gift" also comes with a curse, an uncontrollably violent one that brings painful consequences and changes to both of their lives. In the Shadow recently had its world premiere at Anchorage International Film Festival.

Nicole ElmerAward-winning filmmaker, writer, and playwright Nicole Elmer studied acting and film production at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and The University of Texas at Austin where she received her degree in Radio-TV-Film. Nicole is also a fiction writer, with numerous published short stories and the Chicano/Latino Literary Prize-winning dramatic play, La fruta nunca se cae.

What happened in those woods was a mystery until now. This is a mockumentary of that journey and his encounters with a mysterious creature. Hombre y tierra recently celebrated its world premiere at the Miami International Film Festival.

In the fall of 2009, Texas Performing Arts, the University of Texas Theatre and Dance Department, and El Colegio del Cuerpo coordinated a pilot project spanning over six months, with residency periods in both Texas and Colombia. Five professional male dancers from Cartagena, Colombia were paired with five female student dancers to develop a new dance work. They were expected to work together, overcoming cultural differences and language barriers, to create a new dance piece. A behind-the-scenes look at dance production and cultural fusion, with artists being pushed out of their comfort zones.
