Jamaica continues to be on top of the world-wide music scene. Reggae has evolved to produce a new genre, Dancehall. The Dancehall phenomenon is unstoppable in Jamaica and the rest of the world. Artists, dancers, and local teenagers explain the content of the controversial Dancehall lyrics and the lifestyle created by the music. This film presents and represents the urban street culture and lifestyle that fuels and is born out of Dancehall, and captures the elements of dance which form an integral part of nightlife in Kingston. Hit Me with Music won Best Documentary and the People's Choice Award at the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival.

Miquel Galofre

Miquel Galofré was born in Barcelona in 1970. For more than two decades, he worked as a director, cameraman, and editor for the Spanish TV industry. In 2005 he made his first short Gua! Pa!. His first documentary feature Why Do Jamaicans Run So Fast? was made in 2009.
